Greg Hersey - The Percussionist Vol 1
Greg Hersey - The Percussionist Vol 1
A few months ago, while scrolling through Instagram and eating a burrito, I stumbled across a bearded band director who was doing something extraordinary. With a "drum kit" consisting of a marching bass drum, woodblocks, cowbells and random pieces of metal, he was laying down some of the funkiest (and most unique) grooves I've heard in years. This was something special.
I slid into his DMs and we started a friendly rapport around drums and music. I mentioned that I thought his hybrid approach to percussion and drums would make for an incredible loop and sample library, and we began to hatch a production plan that would become this very product that you're looking at today.
Recorded in his band room in Jacksonville, Florida, Greg Hersey - The Percussionist Volume 1 is a library featuring hundreds of loops and samples, recorded on a multitude of different drum and percussion setups, all featuring a wide range of grooves and tempos. We also include two sonic options for each loop: "Dry", which is a tighter drum sound utilizing the close mics on Greg's kit, and "Mixed", which has a much more open and powerful room round.
In addition to the loops, we also produced two custom MASCHINE kits featuring all of Greg's drum and percussion sounds. All of the loops and samples are neatly organized into folders, allowing you to quickly drag and drop and into the DAW or sampler of your choice.
Ready for a library that blurs the lines of rock, symphonic and marching drums and percussion? Introducing Greg Hersey - The Percussionist Volume 1.
