About Isac Jamba:
Isac Jamba is a Brazilian-born drummer, composer, and educator renowned for his mastery of Brazilian rhythms and dynamic drumming style. Hailing from Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, Jamba began playing drums at age five, influenced by his musical family, including his mother, a guitarist and vocalist of samba and choro. Self-taught, he developed a versatile skill set, contributing to over 80 recordings across various genres in Brazil. His career spans collaborations with prominent Brazilian and international artists, live performances, and a reputation for technical finesse and authentic samba phrasing.
Jamba founded the Jamba Battery Institute (Portas Abertas) in Brazil, where he taught over 60 students, and has since relocated to the United States, currently residing in Iowa. A celebrated clinician, he has led workshops and masterclasses worldwide, sharing his expertise in Brazilian jazz and drumming techniques. His accolades include winning the BDMG Young Musician award and reaching the finals of prestigious festivals like Odery and Modern Drummer.
