Darren King Drums Volume 1

Introducing Darren King Drums Volume 1. As the drummer behind MUTEMATH, he built a reputation on performances that felt equal parts precision and chaos, on grooves that hit hard but never sat still, and on sounds you couldn’t quite place. Vol. 1 puts that sound in your hands, captured exactly the way he hears it.

Every loop, hit and kit in this collection was recorded and mixed by Darren himself in his own studio. Nothing was handed off, polished by someone else, or flattened into a generic “drum library” sound. What you hear is his room, his kits, his tuning and his mix decisions. That’s the closest thing to having him in the session with you.

The 318 loops capture his feel at full performance, with the push-and-pull and ghost-note detail that make his playing instantly recognizable. Drop one in and the track has a pulse. The 502 one-shots give you the raw material to build your own patterns from his sounds, so you can program something new without losing the character that makes them his.

If you’d rather play than program, Vol. 1 includes ready-to-load instruments for MASCHINE, BATTERY and the Roland SPD-SX Pro, so his kits are mapped and ready the moment you open them. For producers and mixers who want to get inside the sound, 13 sessions of multitrack stems break performances out into their individual parts, giving you full control over balance, processing and arrangement.
