Introducing Pick Pocket

I ran a break off an old demo through it and had the feel sitting on my timeline in under a minute — every push and drag intact, mapped straight into Superior Drummer. Quantized MIDI never sounded like this. This is the tool I've been faking with warp markers for years.

Capture-from-track is the killer feature. I pointed it at a dusty vinyl loop playing in my session and it found the clean four bars on its own, cut them click-free, and handed me the groove. No bouncing, no trimming, no manual anything.

The layered audition is genius. You hear the extracted MIDI playing a kit in lockstep with the original, and when it sounds doubled you know the pocket made it across. It turns a thing you'd normally check by squinting at a piano roll into something you just hear.

As a Vault member I can pull the groove out of any pack in the catalog. I've had Clyde Stubblefield's pocket driving my own drum sounds all week. That sentence alone should sell it.

The .agr export changed how I work in Ableton — I extract the feel once and apply it as a groove to everything: hats, bass, keys. The whole session breathes like the original loop now, and the loop isn't even in the song anymore.
